Yes — airsoft can be a safe birthday at Coyote Field when kids meet the age minimum, wear the right eye and face protection, and sit through the safety brief. That is not the same as “airsoft is the best first party for every 10-year-old.”
If this is their first force-on-force party, or the group includes kids who do not want to get stung, start with Gellyball. Airsoft is allowed at 10. It is a better fit after they have played once, or when they specifically want more intensity.
Coyote Field is in Ladoga, about 40–45 minutes west of Indianapolis via I-74. Private airsoft parties run 2 hours for groups of 4–60, from $40/player, with a $50 deposit online.
Those numbers are eligibility, not a recommendation. A 10- or 11-year-old can book airsoft. Many first-timer groups in that range are happier on Gellyball — lower sting, same private field and host. See which party fits by age and experience.
Every airsoft player wears impact-rated eye protection (ANSI Z87+). Anyone under 18 also needs full eye and face coverage. For ages 10–11 that means full-seal goggles plus nose, ears, and mouth covered — a full paintball-style mask is the usual choice.
Your group gets a safety brief before play. Marshals run the field. Replicas are chronographed (velocity-checked) before they go out. Parents or guardians sign waivers for anyone under 18 at waiver.coyoteforce.com.
The full player document is Official Airsoft Rules — joule limits by replica class, hit calling, and field conduct. You do not need to memorize it for a birthday; staff cover what your group needs at the brief.
Private airsoft parties include rental replicas, goggles, and ammo. Kids do not need their own guns. If someone in the group already owns a replica, staff still chrono it and it still has to meet field limits.
Closed-toe shoes, layers, and water are the parent checklist. Extra clothing helps with sting. Cake and pizza can stage after games.

Mixed-age families usually run one Gellyball session for everyone. Split groups only if older kids insist on airsoft and the younger ones have a Gellyball option.
